The program will include some first-hand experiences in development and participation in lab and field activities to understand science and communicate their findings through small research projects and discussions of contemporary environmental issues. Students will gain knowledge about science and apply this knowledge to a variety of questions, including the impact of human development on natural systems.
Coordination for opportunities for students has been discussed with various groups, including Quarry Hill Nature Center, the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, Rochester Public Utilities, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, among others.
